History of the Trakehner breed

All of our foals and youngstock have the very best start in life they are handled daily, each are individually assessed and are fed on Dodson and Horrell Suregrow, we have a very strict worming program and we pay particular attention to feet trimming while our babies are growing and have an excellent Farrier. We also have a dedicated team of Vet's including the Gibson & Lee Veterinary Practice and Rossdales of Newmarket.

Woodcroft Gringo, Faboulous Chestnut Colt Foal with real Stallion potential! Woodcroft Gaucho , Black colt foal born 30th June 2007. This is the most beautiful foal I have ever seen!!!

Woodcroft Hirtenfreude is classical in type and presence, almost perfect in conformation, correctness and gaits, she is a beautiful Tambour daughter with an outstanding pedigree. E.H. Tambour is a Premium Stallion & Elite Stallion. His highly proven Dressage genes include some of the best International Bloodlines including the Elite Stallion Hohenstein, Elite Stallion Caprimond, Elite Stallion Consul - Herzbube. Still a young Stallion he maintains a top position among the most successful sires of Broodmares (official list 2004).

Woodcroft Hirtenfreude's mare family are renouned for producing outstanding Stallions, top class Broodmares and International Dressage Horses such as the Elite Stallions Herzzauber & Herzruf, Champion stallion Hibiskus, Olympic star Hirtentraum & Supreme Champion & Elite Mare Herzchen.

Her dam ST.PR.U.PR.ST Hirten was one of the foundation mares of the German Stud Elmarshausen. Her 2nd dam ST.PR.U. PR.ST. High Socks is the mother of Holderlin, successful sire in Hungary and has won several German National In Hand Titles, as did her 3rd dam ST.PR.PR.U.E.ST. Herchen, dam of the Elite Stallion Herzruff, Reserve Champion Hirtenruf and a number of top class Broodmares.

Woodcroft Hirtenfreude was awarded the Title of Premium Mare and Reserve Champion at the Trakehner Breeders Fraternity Show 2004. In the same year at the Royal Show (see the Judges comments in news and results) she was 2nd in the Warmblood Broodmare Class and joint Reserve Champion out of 68 entries, scoring 9 for Type and 9 for Elasticity. She was also 1st at the East of England show in the Sport Horse Class. At the Suffolk County Show Hirtenfreude was 1st in the Warmblood Class, Champion Warmblood and Reserve Supreme Champion out of a possible 1,400 horses.

His sire Woodcroft Garuda K is a top level future Dressage candidate. His grandsire Elite Stallion Muenchhausen counts among the most successful Grand Prix Dressage Horses in Europe. Garuda K's bloodlines are pure Dressage, his damsire imports the influence of the S - Dressage Sire the Elite Stallions Angard and Unkensee.

Woodcroft Gaucho is line bred to the Elite Stallion Hohenstein, he has the most amazing head and neck combined with good conformantion, off the floor elastic paces, Gaucho is very well handled having individual attension every day. £7000

Woodcroft Kristabelle. St.Pr.u.Pr.St Kolumbina, Champion Mare of her performance test has produced her first foal, Registered TBF she is a charming princess, very elegant, strong in her type and very femanine she has the most wonderful temperament and is loved by everyone who meets her, Woodcroft Kristabelle has very good limbs and conformation, her powerful and energetic paces show perfect elasticity, rhythm & always uphill.

Her sire Le Rouge was Champion of his grading in 2004, he represents the very modern type of Trakehner competition Stallion and became German Federal Champion Trakehner Stallion of all 3 year olds in 2005 & absolved a brilliant Stallion performance test with scores of 9's and 10's for riding ability, temperament, character and gaits.

Kristabelle's dam St.Pr.u.Pr.St Kolumbina belongs to the famous 'K' family founded by the family of the Princess of Dohna which is one of the oldest and most respected studs of East Prussia, the supreme Champion Stallions King Arthur, Kupferberg Gold & Kennedy as well as the Graded Stallions Kosmos, Karoliger i, Karolinger ii, & Kasimir are members of this most valuable and consolidated family.

Woodcroft Kristabelle's Grandsire King Arthur is one of the highest rated Dressage Stallions in Germany, he is being competed at Grand Prix & is also graded for the Oldenburg & Hanovarian Studbooks.

Her Granddam the Elite Mare Kontessina was also Champion of her mare performance test and is by the foundation sire & Elite Stallion Arogno.

Kristabelle was Champion pure bred Foal at the Trakehner Breeders Fraternity Show in September 2006, judges commented on her correct conformation, powerful movement and superb breeding. £10.000 no offers.

Woodcroft Guadalajara A beautiful Bright Bay Colt Foal, Registered BWBS, born on the 10.08.06 to make approx 16.2hh -16.3hh. Out of St.Pr.u.Pr.St Woodcroft O'Hara a very feminine, impressive mare, being of correct type, she has exceptional movement and carries some of the highest proven International competition genes.

St.Pr.u.Pr.St Woodcroft O'Hara is one of very few daughters by Arrak, member of the famous Ibikus Stallion line, who has produced a high number of successful International Dressage Horses in the German and Danish Trakehner Societies as well as other Warmblood Breeds. Arrak sired top competition horses in all disaplines, including the Olympic Dressage star Merlin.

St.Pru.Pr.St O'Hara's dam line has it's roots in one of the most valuable mare families of the former highly regarded stud Schlobitten in East Prussia.

Her dam the Elite mare St.Pr.,Pr.u.E.St. Olga was sired by E.H. Sixtus, Elite Stallion and Stallion of the year 2001, who competed Internationally to the highest level in Show Jumping. This outstanding Sire and his line guarantee powerful movement, lots of presence, ability and attitude to excell in all disaplines upto the highest level. 2nd dam Premium mare Pr.St Oda was sired by the famous Elite Stallion E.H. Consul, founder of a new blossoming Stallion line and dominant Dressage sire in the Trakehner breed and all other Warmblood breeds as well as 3rd dam the Elite mare E.St. Ovation by Magnet a symbol of the most beautiful, noble classical and proven Trakehner broodmares. St.Pr.u.Pr.St. Woodcroft O'Hara is very closely related to the Proven American sire Onassis and is maternal half sister to the young Premium Stallion of Neumunster 2003 Oliver Twist and the Premium Stallion of 2006 Okavango.

St.Pr.u.Pr.St Woodcroft O'Hara was unchallenged Champion of her Mare Grading in Germany. At her mare peformance test she gained a 9 for her temperament and 9 for her jumping ability. St.Pr.u.Pr.St Woodcroft O'Hara's first foal Pr. Woodcroft O'Neill swept the board at the 2006 Trakehner show to become Champion Mare Grading, Champion Mare Performance Test and Supreme Champion.

Woodcroft Guadalajara's Sire Woodcroft Garuda K's bloodlines are outstanding, with a most exceptional genepool which is proven & consolidated, with no less than 6 Elite Stallions directly within his breeding. By the Champion, Premium & Elite Stallion Muenchhausen, who was Reserve World Champion for young horses in 2003 & is now winning at Grand Prix, Grand Prix special and was short listed for the Team for the European Dressage Championships 2005. Muenchhausen is a highly reputed sire not only within the Trakehner breed, but he is used to influence other Warmblood breeds.

Garuda K's Grandsire E.H. Angard is also a Champion & Elite Stallion competing successfully up to Grand Prix level. He is the son of the unforgettable Elite Stallion and Grand Prix star E.H Anduc, renound for his high quality Dressage offspring.

Unkensee, sire of Garuda K's granddam is renouned for his exceptional transmission of Trakehner type and outstanding talent for Dressage, his sire E.H Erkonig was also bestowded the title of Elite Stallion due to the exceptional results of his offspring competing to the highest level in Dressage.
